Let it please be reminded, that due to Evan Bourne’s untimely injury, he has had to pull out of his scheduled match with his tag team partner. Tyson Kidd. While Smackdown Assistant General Manager Jim Ross finalises the details on his replacement, our first match of the night will be …
I’M THE MAN WITH A PLAN
ITS THE UNITED STATES CHAMPION. THE…BRIAN… KENDRICK.
Kendrick’s in the ring and grabs the mic
“Last weekend I beat Luke Harper to retain MY… United States Championship. Which means showing up to this tournament and walking out Crusierweight Champion AS WELL. Should be a sinch. I asked Triple H about getting a spot in this tournament, and he was allllll to willing to give it to me. SO Rey…. Dolph. Don’t tire yourself out too much tonight….
Because THE United States Champion… THE Brian Kendrick. Will soon be THE. WWE… CRUSIERWEIGHT….CHAMPION.” (76).. “So who’s my opponent again?”
The crowd pops it’s shit.
Ding Ding Ding.
The match starts slow, Aries panders to the crowd, and Kendrick can’t seem to get a foothold in the match. At every moment Aries gets a chance to shine, he rubs it in Kendricks face by lying on the turnbuckle… posing…. Kendrick’s on the ropes here folks!
As we get on, Aries started to show his vicious side and floors Kendrick. He goes for the Horns of Aries submission before Kendrick rakes the eyes (which is apparently not a DQ) He gets up, flings Aries into the ring post, and catches him on the rebound to hit some Sliced Bread.
In a bout that had good wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd, Brian Kendrick defeated Austin Aries in 12:54 by pinfall by using underhanded tactics. (76).
Post match. Sin cara is backstage talking about how he is going to inevitably win the Crusierweight number one contender tournament. His match is tomorrow night on Smackdown by the way for anyone who can’t wait to see Sin Cara in action… He’s against… OH SHIT
Tyler Breeze whacks Sin Cara in the head with his Selfie stick! That’s his opponent tomorrow night! Breeze then proceeds to take selfies with the fallen Sin Cara (46)
MATCH NUMBER TWO IN THE NO 1 CONTENDER TOURNAMENT…
Tyson Kidd is here. He was hoping to face his best friend Evan Bourne tonight, but an unfortunately timed injury has stopped that…
Tyson waits patiently…
The referee is handed a piece of paper…….
“LADIES AND GENTLEMAN..,… AS PER REQUEST OF THE SMACKDOWN ASSISTANT GENERAL MANAGER JIM ROSS….. TYSON KIDD’S OPPONENT TONIGHT”
…………..The referee stops and double takes………………..
The phenomanal… A ….. J…… FUCKING STYLES”.
The write up to this match won’t do it justice. Just let all of that sink in. The match was a good contest. Both men showed off. Tyson locked in the sharpshooter. Styles got to the bottom rope. Tyson goes for Code Blue. Gets caught phenomenally, and gets planted with the Styles Clash.
In a bout that had decent wrestling, AJ Styles defeated Tyson Kidd in 14:34 by pinfall with a Styles Clash. (70)
Buy a car.
Backstage, AJ Styles is caught by Tom Phillips who congratulates him on his debut, and asks what can we expect to see, from AJ Stlyes, after this phenomenal debut?
“Debut?” Asks Styles..
“Aha. I’m AJ Styles. And I am the greeeaaatest, WRESTLER, on this planet. This may have been my own personal debut. But my family… MY BOYS….. My boys are already here. Go and ask them”. (80).
A music video is shown to promote Cody Rhodes. (50)
The announcers put over the fact that we’ll be seeing Dolph Ziggler take on Rey Mysterio Jr next for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship. (72)
Ding Ding Ding
It’s fast.. It’s frantic… It’s the fucking cruiserweight championship match. ITS CRUISERWEIGHT CENTRAL!
Dolph is pissed. He’s aggressive. Frantic. He’s pulling on the mask and being booed by the crowd. Rey turns the tide with some swift kicks… before Dolph hits each of his non finishers, While Rey constantly teases the crowd with the 619.
Eventually Rey sets it up and goes for his signature move, But Dolph grabs him between the ropes to lock in the Sleeper Hold!
Rey’s fading.. Will he tap!??!?!?!?!
No! He slips out of his arm, through Dolphs legs, he dropkicks him in the back.. 619 TIME!. BOOSH! Dolph takes the 619 has the where with all to hold onto the rope and drag himself out of the ring, onto the floor.
Rey goes to capitalise on the opportunity, he chases Dolph out, grabs his tights…. But Dolph has grabbed a knuckle duster from under the ring! “What on earth is that doing there” asks JBL. Well that’s a bloody good question. Dolph cheekily clocks Rey in the chops. He slings the champ back into the ring.
Dolph Ziggler defeated Rey Misterio Jr. in 15:02 by pinfall. Dolph Ziggler wins the WWE Cruiserweight title. (78).
After the match, Dolph Ziggler celebrates in the ring. He takes the celebration way too far, heeling it up and going entirely overboard. (78)
I skipped the bit that told me how good that is.
