Power Hour, Week 2 2017

Welcome to chuffing Power Hour! It’s here, which means it’s early in the morning and you’re up for some reason and you turn on Sky One and notice that it’s wrestling so you watch it.

In a bout that had sub-par wrestling and little heat, Ashley Flair defeated Becky Lynch in 7:02 by submission. ( 61 )

A video plays of the Raw Main Event, Daniel Bryan v Big E for the right to enter the WWE Title Match at the Royal Rumble. We see Daniel put up a hell of a fight, but the untimely intervention of John Cena accidentally hitting him with a chair puts Daniel down and he is counted out.

The final image is Cena kneeling over his fallen friend. ( 81 )

In a decent match, Goldust defeated Alberto Del Rio in 9:58 by disqualification when he brought a chair into the ring, dropped it and got his knees screaming for Del Rio to wake him up! Goldust has lost his bastard mind, but Del Rio is a prick so he batters Goldust with the chair and the ref rings the bell. ( 69 )

The ECW Title picture is the subject of the next video, in which we see highlights from Matt Hardy defeating Raven at New Year’s Revolution, his match last week against The Sandman and finally the action on Raw when Matt unwisely challenged Rob Van Dam, and was more or less handed the victory by an interfering Edge. ( 72 )

We see a video recapping last night’s shock reveal that Paige had been signed by the Snake Agency, and her attack on Bayley along with Amazing Kong. ( 64 )

In a bout that had decent wrestling but didn’t have much heat, The Snake Agency defeated Free Ryder in 5:41 when Paige appeared and ringside and distracted Zack Ryder, allowing Big E and Rusev to his their double team finisher on Brian Freeman, which I don’t have a name for yet. Rusev locked Freeman in the Accolade and tapped the lad out.

In terms of in-ring work, Big E was head and shoulders above everyone else. ( 73 )

After the match Jake “The Snake” Roberts, surrounded by his clients, cuts a promo explaining that due the previous Non-Aggression Pact between his agency and The Gilded, that Big E will be declining the opportunity to be included in the WWE Title Match. However, as a concession, Jake reveals that both Big E and Rusev have been granted entrance into the Royal Rumble Match itself.

He then addresses the fact that he has signed Paige, the former Universal Women’s Champion. Jake asks Paige if she has any explanation for her new attitude, to which she simply smiles and taps her temple. ( 86 )
